Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Do I (the buyer) need to be present during the home inspection?
A:  No, you do not need to be present during the inspection process.  If possible, I would like you to meet me on the property at the conclusion of the inspection, so we can review the results immediately and I will show you the defects I have discovered.  You will also be presented with photographs of the defects at this time.

Q: Does the seller have to fix the defects found on the report?
A:  No, the seller is not obligated to fix or repair the defects.  Armed with my detailed, written report and the seller's disclosure statement, you will have the necessary information needed to make an informed decision on your home purchase.  A home inspection report will relieve you of any unexpected surprises.  You will be glad you hired a Certified Home Inspector to work only for you.

Q: When and how do I pay for the inspection?
A:  Please provide your payment (cash or check) at the inspection.  Credit cards are not accepted at this time.

Q:  Is a detached garage included in the standard inspection?
A:  Yes, a detached garage is included.  Other outbuildings require an additional charge.
